Here's a working Compass. It changes the minimap to round or oval shape, (choose your preference) also choose full color or semi-transparent.
Compass maintains heading North when Player and camera are used to navigate.
Coded in Lua for Open Source.
Installs with OpenIV.
Install:
Use OpenIV.
Navigate to:
update/update.rpf/common/data/ui
Place frontend.xml
Navigate back to:
update/update.rpf/X64/textures
Open graphics.ytd
Insert radarmasklg.dds and radarmadksm.dds in graphics.ytd.
Next go to update/update.rpf/X64/textures/script-txds.rpf( it's actually underscore not dash but the site won't allow underscore in text.)
Place CompassHUD.rpf there.
Close OpenIV.
Next navigate to the mod files.
Open CHOOSE STYLE.
Select one only.
Oval or round.
In each you can also choose between full color or semi-transparent style.
Once you pick your style open folder PUT THESE IN YOUR GTA V MAIN FOLDER
Copy lua.asi and the scripts folder Places into your GTA V main folder.
Compass will automatically load when game starts.
No bugs know, if you find some let me know.

@gdfGDS44 Thanks. It started as RDR2 compass for my Driftwood Mod but I had issues with the health and stars icons so I switched to a compass.
@Jake_GG I appreciate your input.
Spinning compass has little benefit in GTA V. It's function is more for mission aspects in my Driftwood Mod, but it's been in Development too long.

Where can I find this RDR2 map mod?
@Debarup I used the one converted by Arthur Lopes but there's another on in a dlc format. The one you see in pics has not been released yet, it's part of a total conversion mod I'm making. I hope to get a release soon. There's Indians, cowboys, horse riding, bows that shoot arrows, missions start in civil war with muskets, flintlocks and cannons then advances to frontier west with Colt pistols, lever action Winchester. Hawks that hunt and are your friend/helper. Michael is a Indian, Trevor a cowboy and Franklin a Buffalo Soldier. Plus a whole lot more. Banditos with bandeleros, holstered pistols, stage coaches.... Like I said a total conversion.
